Engine Electrical?

So i decided to clean up some wires in the engine bay on my hotrod 69 c10. The motor is out now for a rebuild and i was trying to clean up some ugly wiring. I ended up cutting out an old car alarm that didnt work. Now im worried I cut out some stuff I shouldnt have. I still have 12v going to my ign wire for the HEI. Now im trying to test the starter. The starter is on the ground with the battery hot wire to the big terminal on the starter. The S wire is connected to the S terminal (both are getting 12v) However, the starter doesnt spin when i turn the key. whats wrong? I had the starter tested @ napa and it spun there..

THANKS!!

Just connect a battery jumper cable from the starter body to the frame or better yet the negitive battery post.

Please don't take this the wrong way but if you actually believed that, you may want to have a trained tech do the wiring clean up on your truck. A fire in your hot rod because you wired something incorrectly would not only suck but could possibly endanger your own life. Again, please, don't take this the wrong way, have a trained automotive electrical tech take a peak at it and do it for you.

You guys are probably right i should not touch the truck ever again. But it will have to wait till i finish putting in my new roller 383, lol. By the way, It was a ground issue. It spun after, I put the starter on the floor with a hot wire, S wire, and a couple grounds.

Thanks for the help

Shawn
