Front Bumper

So to make a long story short. I put the truck in drive to back out of a parking space, after a long and redicoulous day at work. At a very low speed I drove into a guard rail. there is now a small crease in the bumper on the passenger side with some scratches, oops. But around the corner where the bumper wraps around to the fenders the passenger is forced down by about 4 inches and the drivers side a couple. How does the bumper mount to the front? On Ebay I found a bumper with some really good pics and what I gather is that the bumper is thin stamped steel, with several mounting hole tabs. I think these tabs have bent and nothing on the frame. I am thinking with a jack I could bend this back up for a bit till I get a new one or a junk yard one. Need advice on how this bumper is mounted. Thanks, its a 2005

It looks like everything is thin stamped steel, that should all bend back into place. Now to figure out how

I pulled on the right rear bumper corner of a new Silverado 3500 and I felt the bumper bending under the force of my gentle pull. It felt so flimsy that I could dent it easily with my fist if I so chose, or bend it just by pulling on it. Substituting a painted plastic bumper cover in lieu of this crap would be a big improvement in my opinion. At least it would be flexible.

yes, you should be able to bend the bumper easily. i have done it many many times on my GMT800

That was easy 4 bolts and the entire bumper comes off. A couple of bends on the brackets and it actually looks better than when I bought it (except for some scratches). I tried to use the neighbors truck to do some measurements and I realized his was a little bent and a little off. tried his wifes newer truck and the same. So I had to eyeball it and just kept making small bends to get it right

PICS? How hard was it to find these bolts? I did the same thing (though I wasnt trying to back out but came barreling ass into a parking space). I would like to remove the bumper to beat the crease back out....
