Anyone experienced code P0430 on the 97 5.7L?  Cleared it and then ran a few tanks of premium through it and it hasn't come back... :D Any thoughts?     :D

Is there any way of checking the codes without going to autozone.  and preferably without using a paper clip.  In the dakota you can turn your key to "on" and then "off" three times and it will display any codes.  Is there any method similar for the silverado.  If not how do I do it with the paperclip?

Thanks

You can buy a code reader at Walmart these days.  And I don't think that they are more than $20.  I'm sure it comes with a manual to tell you the codes.

I just bought a scan tool from AutoXray. I went all out and bought the big kit, it will scan just about any car from mid 80's on up. I have a large variey of vehicles in my family and wanted to be able to use it on all of them. Check out www.autoxray.com. I am waiting to get the PCLink so that I can download all the readings to my PC. I've only had it two weeks, but so far so good. :thumb:
