2008 Sierra 1500 Traction Control

i have a 2008 gmc sierra 1500 and i dont have a button for traction control and i have 3.73 gears and the G80 rear differential do i have somthing different since i dont have traction control

No.. You should have traction control. Nothing special about the 3.73's either. Since your trucks a 4-speed trans, the 3.73's were an option What trim level do you have? SL or SLT? Should be a button under the climate controls in the center.

i have the sle model it is loaded with everything but there is no button for the traction control

there are 2 power outlets and in the middle of them is an empty space so what does this mean since i dont have traction control

Is your truck a regular cab? The button your thinking of on the dash is for stabilitrak available on extended cabs and crew cabs.

What happens when you mash the gas pedal? Does it spin the tires?

And you post photos by uploading them from sites like Photobucket, then coping the link to the reply window

Edit:

After more reading. If your vehicle doesn't have stabilittrak, then it doesn't have traction control. You either have both or neither. Thats right out of the owners manual.

so i guess my truck doesnt have stabilitrak which is kind of weird because it is the z71 package and its loaded with everything. is it a big down fall to not have it

Another question... Does your truck have rear disk brakes or drums? And No... it's not a big issue not to have it. Quite frankly, most of the time I wish my truck didn't have it. I too am very surprised that you don't have it.

It was an option in 2008 on ext cabs but standard on crew cabs. Same in '07.

no it is an extended cab and yes it does spin when i mash the throttle but are there any down falls to not having the stabilitrak

I had this question to with my 07 silverado. I have no button. If I mash the gas I get zero wheel spin and I have a blackbear tune. Im thinking something might be wrong.
