Sound Controls Steering Wheels Out

My sound controls on steering wheel do not work well, the button to lower the sound do not work, the button to amplify (to up) is ok. What can do ? Do I need to open the steering and remove the airbag to accessed at the radio controls ? I hope no, I'm very afraid to open the airbag

Ok, thanks, I read it also, if I understand well I need to remove the air-bag, I do not like this idea ....

removing the airbag is not as scary as it sounds.

 

here is how to disarm the airbag, i used the method of disarming the neg battery cable and waiting 10 minutes when i replaced my wheel so i could have radio controls.

 

 

here is how to remove the airbag and steering wheel from the truck. you don't need to remove your wheel to replace the controls.

 

 

and here is how to transfer components so you know what needs to be removed before replacing the controls

 

 

while you have it disassembled, check the wiring that goes to the controls make sure none of the wires are crimped or broken. it would suck to buy the controls to find out it was just messed up wires!
