Just Bought A '07 Sierra

I just bought a '07 GMC Sierra yesterday and have a smile from ear to ear. The truck has 57,300 miles on it. What, if anything, do you all think I should do as far as any tune up stuff... spark plugs, filters, fluid checks or changes?

spark plugs are good for 100,000m. I would change both diffs fluid, the tranfer case and maybe the transmission fluid. Check the throttle body and if it has carbon on it spray with some throttle body cleaner. should keep you going for a long time

^^^^ What he said. My 08 is just about 10,000 miles or so less then that and that's about what I've done.

What types/brands/weights of fluids?

Sorry, new guy here. I have some experience wrenching on older cars, but the new stuff is new to me. I would like to do as much of the maintenance as I can on my own though.

Also, my truck came with a key and that's it. Where would I be able to find an owners manual or other manuals for it?

i prefer Mobil 1 for the engine oil and filter. i also used their gear lube in my Camaro's differential. i'm interested to see what people recommend for transmission fluid, i haven't had to do that yet on any of my vehicles.

Oil change is all I would do, the rest is pretty well unnecessary unless you are hauling lotsa weight. I have an '07 Sierra, it runs like a top. I change the oil every 3k. I now have 87,000 on it.

Yeah, in the few days I've had it, it does run like a top. My only wonders are that since I bought it used I don't know what it's first 50xxx miles were like (towing, hauling, climbing, etc.). It's in real good shape, so I'm not too worried. Just trying to be safe, if needed.

You are exactly right.......you don't know.

If there is evidence that the truck has been used for towing, I would change ALL of the fluids (including brake fluid).

I bought my '06 a few years ago and that's exactly what I did. I tow with it exclusively. I wanted to be sure that I have no issues. There was no evidence of it having towed (it didn't even have a hitch) but each time that brake fluid has gotten hot, it loses more of it's ability to withstand heat again.

I'm light on my brakes when towing and I still change the brake fluid every 2-years.
