I have a 1987 GMC Sierra 4wd. The motor shuts off at random times.. for example: while switching gears, as soon as you turn the truck on it sometimes shuts right off, and at stop signs, etc.

The grounds have been cleaned off, we have switched computers, all new sensors... been looked at by various mechanics and no one seems to be able to figure out the problem. Becoming very frustrating.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

to me it sounds like a fuel problem...i would check the wiring to the fuel pump....and also make sure the connections are not dirty....

Ditto the fuel problem.... Sounds related to fuel...... Initial cranking requires more fuel.... Pulling up to a stop sign and stopping you usually have a fuel surge as the load on the pump changes, if you have low pressure it usually will choke down and try to die or die.

Fuel Pump, Filter, Regulator..... Sounds like a fuel problem.
