Canoe On A Suburban

Anyone carry a canoe on top of your Suburban? I have the factory roof rack with cross rails (2011) and was wondering if there is a recommended set up for carrying a canoe on top. Thanks

We put a canoe on are 04 Uplander with the roof rack and cross rails all the time. I would suggest getting pool noodles. to cover the area where the canoe touches the rails. saves on starches and some vibration noise when going at high speeds. doesn't see why a Suburban would be any different.

I've carried canoes and small (14 foot) sailboats on the top of my Suburban without any problems. The foam pool noddles are a very good idea. Just make sure that the canoe can't twist around when driving while it is on top. You may want to tie the bow and stern to the front and rear bumpers.
