Towing With A Leveling Kit

Recommended Posts

So I'm debating getting the rough country 2" level kit, but I tow a bass boat and a 5000lb camper on occasion. I'm worried about sagging in the back after the truck is leveled. How many of ya's tow after your level kit, and can you give me idea of sag? Thank you!

It will sag some, but it's not worth worrying about. Your boat won't obviously be an issue and the camper has weight distribution bars to help keep it close to level.

I towed for years with leveling kits. For the 90% of the time your driving without towing something.. it's not worth worrying about. :dunno:

if you are going to tow with a leveling kit and want to avoid a sagging rear end, install either 2.5" or 3" rear blocks

i put the 3" block in the back of mine. not it sets nice and level when towing.

So are you back to the stock rake, just lifted?

Well since mine is an '06 it really doesn't compare (coil springs to torsion bars) however, I've had my truck leveled for over two years now. I tow/haul all the time. When I put the kit in I left my front end down about 1/2" compared to the rear, just so when I do hook up (I use a WD hitch) it doesn't go "nose high" on me. Plus even before it was leveled I've hauled top soil in the truck & with factory settings my front end would be up compared to the rear.
