89 Silverado Fuel Problem?

Hi Guys,

 

Ok so I'll admit it's been ages since i've been in here and I actually don't own a truck anymore. Blasphemy I know but, I have a question. My Dad is working on a truck for a friend and just finished rebuilding the whole engine from the heads up. He had it running for like 2 minutes last night and now it won't stay running and apparently no fuel is getting to the engine itself.

 

It's an 89 Silverado with the 305 in it. I am at work and he's asked me to pose the question in hopes there might be some gearheads out there that may have some suggestions. He says the fuel pump primes but, nothing gets through. So I'm thinking clogged line or something like that or bad injector or Injector module???

 

Suggestions.

Pull the bed, check rubber from fuel pump to sending unit in tank. That rubber was probably dry rotted then when you add gas going through it at pressure it falls apart.

My Dad's going to hate me for posting this but, I thought I would for those of you out there working on dual fuel system trucks. So turns out that this truck use to have Propane on it but, the tank has been removed. So, My Dad while he was fiddling around trying to shut the dome lights off in the truck flicked the switch for propane but, the switch was actually in the middle of either propane/gas so it wasn't selecting anything and wouldn't even turn over.

So, once Gas was selected it ran like a top.

 

My poor Dad this rebuild has been like that from the get go! So hopefully he can get it done and get it back to the person!
