Hi Everyone,

New to the group. My name is Ed--recently bought a 2002 S10 Z85 Crew Cab. Low miles (78K) and it appears not to be used to tow or other heavy work. Nice truck with the normal "things" wrong. The dealer filled the gas tank up when I bought it (nice thing to do). Anyway, drove the truck to get to know it the past week. The low fuel light lights up so over the weekend filled the tank up. Mileage is 187.5/13.1 so not abnormal. My question/issue is -- from empty to full only took 13 gallons of fuel. Yet the documentation calls for a 19 gal tank. What gives? Any help/ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance. Ed

Crew Cab had a 17.5 gallon capacity

Extended cab has an 18.3 and the Regular Cab an 18.0.

figure 5 gallon reserve if you fill right when the low fuel light comes on. also take into account that a near 10 year old vehicle will have sediment from the fuel at the bottom of the tank, though I can't believe it would offset the tank more than .25 - .50 of a gallon and even then that would be A LOT of crap in the tank.
