Grease Fittings

Anybody know for sure exactly how many fittings there are to be hit?

I found one that has been missed repeatedly (never been greased) by my oil change facility.  I would like to simply ask them to write down the number of fittings that they hit each time.  If I knew the official number I could tell if they got em all....and if they lie too!

"Oh I see....so you hit 12 of em eh?  where are the other 2?"

Anybody know for positive?

I know on the 4wds that all places would miss 3 because how many places take off the plastic skid plate (5 bolts)?  NONE!

YOu have to do it yourself if you want it done right

I gotta admit, i couldnt get to that high one on the drivers side.

My grease gun's nozzle isnt long enough to get up in there since i now have a lift

I may be able to replace it with a 90 degree angle zerk, but even thats difficult, and that may allow me to reach it.

I was sorta surprised at the amount of grease some of the fittings took.

One of my lower ball joint boots has a tiny hole in it too, but nothing much to worry about.

I just did my grease fittings last oil change.  I gotta say that if you dont do it yourself...there is no way a regular lube shop would get those under the skid plate.

As for the one fitting that is a pain to get to....I suggest you try turning your wheels all the way until you get access to it.  I was ready to replace my zerk fitting when I just happened to have my wheels turned the whole way.  My buddy (who replaced his zerk) noticed that we did not have to replace mine since I could get to it with the wheels cut.  Just something to keep in mind...

Changed out the zerk also to a 90 degree, also installed a longer flex hose on the end of my gun.    I use Amsoil's synthetic multi purpose, it is red and you can see where it came out the first time, like the guys on the assembly line never bothered to grease it.

Must be a Z71 thing because I can get to all of mine without taking off a skid plate? Dont think I am missing any, I am getting 11.
