Jump Seat Swap

I have a 2007 new style Silverado with the basic (crappy bucket console) type jump seat. I found one of the better jump seats with three cup holders and a compartment underneath the seat at a salvage yard. It came out of a new style 2500 silverado.

Will it fit??? Thanks

yes

The guy says that the console is just over 14" wide... I measured another one out of an extended cab and it was 13 1/2" wide...

Surely they didn't make several different sizes?

it will fit ive seen people put them in 07+ and also put them in 03-06 and they fit just fine

the bolt holes on the one at the salvage yard were 24" apart. mine are about 15 - 16". No offense, but im glad I didn't listen to you

I did this exact swap in my truck. The only difference was my truck is a 2010 GMC SL. I ordered a new jump seat from a 2011 SLE in ebony. It was a direct swap. Absolutely no difference in the size or mounts. My truck even came with the pig tail for the power outlet that comes in the SLE jump sear. The only issue was the lock for the seat. It does not come with the lock cylinder. I have a hole where the lock should be. The difference in width the OP mentioned could simply be two different people measuring different locations.

If it is that different, I would suggest the OP check and make sure he has a GMT900, or that the seat from the wreckers was in fact out of a GMT900, and not a GMT800. I just measured my old jump seat (and it is for sale) and the front bolts are about 22 inches. I say about because I could not get at it without moving a bunch of stuff, and with my back the way it is, I chose not to. It may be 24, but it was for sure not 16. Something you may want to keep in mind, the mounts are "adjustable". The metal is pretty thin and can be made to be 16 inches apart pretty easily. It is only a couple of inches on each side.

So you are saying that one of the new fold-down arm rest style seats with the 3 cup holders and the storage underneat will fit in my 2005? Is it a direct bolt in instalation?

I know a guy that just did this. He told me he had to drill the holes a little bigger in the newer ones bracket and it worked. He said it was a snug fit because the newer style is wider, but once he got it in it worked perfectly. But I havent seen it in person :)

next time maybe you will listen to people and search a little more, GM did one thing that helps guys out that like to mod thing out like you can put a 98 dash in a 93, 03+ you can put all seats and consoles in with a little drilling makeing holes bigger, on the 355's or colorados you can put alot of the H3 interior parts in them, 99% of the stuff you can swap.. for example a buddy mine has a 05 W/T extended can the truck now has factory, leather/power/heated seats, power windows, power locks/ keyless entry, steering wheel controls, fog lights, full center console.. not trying to be a ass but with a little search and asking around you can do stuff, he even took his v6 out and now has a cammed 6.0L. stuff can be done do a little research and you will learn
