Cargo Managment System

I have the Cargo Management System with the built in bed divider. I was hoping someone can give me a clue how to detach it from the rail system without unbolting it (4bolts)? It doesn't slide all the way out of the truck bed.

I also am planning to buy the overhead utility rack for carrying my kayaks. Does anyone know if those can slide out or do I have to unbolt them too?

I use the overhead rack system to carry my two kayaks, but if I hadn't gotten it for free through G.M Business Choice, I don't know if I would pay for one.

You have to fully disassemble the rear section to remove it from the Cargo Management rails. Even then, manuevering the upright portions from the rails can be a bear; however I have a spray-in bed liner which makes things just a little tighter. The front section can be installed and removed very easily in one solid piece.

Another thing is that the fasteners used in this sysem are very unique. If you lose a bolt, you will not be able to buy it at the hardware store, in fact, even my local Chevy dealer's parts department didn't have it. I ended up having to fabricate my own with a bench grinder!

Hunt, I manage to remove the rear sliding rack like you said, but you have to disassembly it and loose the trac system from the bed... with air tools its a snap. lol I guess GM didn't put any thought for someone that wants to disassembly it on the side of the road or in a hurry. I guess that's a good thing, theft deterrent.
