I just today purchased an Advent OGM1 Nav system and Advent CAM-330 back up camera for my 08 Sierra. Should be getting this unit by the middle of next week since Monday is a holiday. The source that i purchased it from which whom i cannot advertise told me that he was going to send me the instructions on how to go through the setting on the ogm1 system and override the video and destination entry lock when not parked. Once i get the system installed next week sometime i'll post results and whether or not the override actually works or not. Also will be posting pics of a switch setup i'm going to try that was also suggested by the retailer to setup the back up camera to where you can manually turn it on whenver you want or have it to turn on when in reverse by the flip of a switch. Stay posted and i'll let you all know once i get the install done.

mine doesn't lock out the destination entry when i'm moving or not in park. i didn't do anything fancy to it, just plugged it in and turned it on!

i haven't tried playing a DVD in it yet.

when you do the install, can you take pics and write instructions for all the wire harnesses and wire connections you make? its nice to see if other people do anything different and get different results

That's good to know that there isn't a lock out on the destination entry! I'm not too worried about being able to play DVD's that much, maybe occasionaly i would put one in but really my only concern was being able to search POI and change destination without having to pull over somewhere and stop.

If i have the time to document everything when i do the install i will. Not sure if i'll be in a time crunch or not when i decide to put it in. I should be able to do a write up on it sometime no problem and will try to get pictures if i can/remember to.

cool, yeah i used every harness that came with the unit that would plug into something behind the dash, plus the nav antenna that comes with it. what i did to mount that was take both a-pillars off, then the front top dash panel and mounted the magnetic nav radio supplied to the top of the metal firewall

like this: http://reviews.ebay.com/GM-Truck-SUV-navig...000000004593584

see step 6 for nav antenna installation... i put the advent antenna underneath where the OEM one would go, so that the magnet stuck to metal

Thanks for the link to the install guide, i was trying to figure out today where would be the best/least difficult place to try and mount the antenna with hurting the signal strength. Should be getting everything next Tuesday or Wednesday so will probably be installed by the end of next week. I'll try to remember to take some pics so i can document anything i might run into or helpful hints i find when installing the back up camera. Thanks again for the info.
