Tire Size ?

I went to Costco today to inquire about some new tires for my truck. Stock is 245's and I told the guy I wanted a little bigger tire like a 265. He told me that he could not put on 265's as it went against manufacturer recommendations to upsize tires on a 2500 series truck. So what gives? Thanks in advance.

Go to a different tire shop.

X2. I had 265's put on no problem. Costco doesn't want any liability and won't stray an inch from the book.

Yea definitely go to a different tire place. Pretty much everyone runs 31's (most people run 285's, aka 33's) and bigger on 2500's.

I like Costco a lot, but when I had a flat on my boat trailer I went to the nearest Costco for a replacement. They only had a D rated tire, I needed an E rated tire (the other 5 on the trailer - triple axle - are E rated) so they wouldn't install it on my trailer due to the different rating. They mounted it up for me on the rim, but told me I had to mount it on the trailer without them knowing. A little hassle, but it was still a better price than anywhere else, so I just did it.
