Me and my bud were coming back from somewhere when we he flipped his brights at some guy who was approaching us. Apparently this really pissed him off because he pulled a U-ie and started tailing us with his bright on. So we go like 15 in a 35 while he is riding our ass, then we turn right and get to a long kind of desolate straight road back to our apartment complex. As we are on this road the guy pulls up next to us so now its 2 vehicles going the same way on a two way road. He starts yelling stuff at us and pulling ahead like he wants to race. So i yell something like "c'mon lets see what that toyota can do!"(thats the censored version) So he reevs it some more than throws some heavy ass object at my friends truck. Then he drops back and pulls up again and starts sweerving like he gonna hit us or do something like that so we gun it and get away and pull into our apartment complex. Then we see where it put a hole threw his window and shattered it, but we got a police report so insurance should fix the window.

 

Moral of story: Be real careful who you flick the light at and if they follow you get away as quick as possible

Gotta tell ya... if something like that happened to me, I would have slammed the brakes and made him eat my hitch. Then just left and called the police :cheers:

 

Your lucky he didn't have a gun.

If someone is following you never go to your home. Pull you phone out and pretend to call someone or go ahead and call the police.

It's a gated community with 24 hour security so he isn't getting, but we should have called some friends and led him to a trap and ****ed him up

Very true, he could have had a gun but i think he was drunk so i dont know if could have loaded it and still driven. And he almost ate his hitch when we pulled into the apartment complex

people where i live would not follow anyone or **** with anyone becasue almost everyone has some sort of gun up here. it makes life peaceful that way. if someone ever started following i would just pull over and see if they come up to my window

Trust me everyone has a gun down here to. But this guy was either drunk as ****, or just plain stupid and looking for a fight. I wanted to pull over and beat his ****ing ass to a pulp but i didnt want to risk him having a gun and using it.

same here. back in the day i used to flip people off etc. because i just oozed bravado (dipshit college kid), but after reading one too many stories of people getting shot at i quickly cut that shit out.

 

the OP's story, however, sounds like you just ran into a nutjob. a friendly flash of your lights to remind someone to turn off their brights doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

Maybe they are the same people or related to the ones who 'camp out' in the passing lane(s) on the interstates?

 

Oh, and is it only my cruise control that maintains speed going up overpasses? FM.

Man, that guy is an idiot. You played it right though, no telling what he had. I'm just not too sure what I would've done.

      This is NOT impact damage nor neglect. There were previous class action lawsuits because of such paint preparation st GM manufacturing plant. Not just the Cherry Red Color. This paint is applied in three processes to obtain the desired color.  The manufacturer will cover for 36 months or 36k miles only. That rust is actually corrosion because of the paint process failure. Corrosion is covered for 100,100 miles or a certain months. However their corrosion doesn't include this type. Go figure. Clearly manufacturer knew from previous paint issues. This started 3 weeks ago out of the blue.

      consider doing electrical testing?  I would guess some power or ground wire/connection has a problem.   alldata.com has wiring diagrams, connector pinouts and diagnostic procedures you can use to find where the problem is.

      can you tell if the reader is actually trying to get codes, and the pcm is reporting none, or is your reader just silently failing because it's not communicating with the pcm?

      Any joy with this truck seems to be short-lived.   The CEL for P0172 ("bank 1" too rich) is now "intermittent".   I'm not sure where to check, or re-check, and my energy to keep chasing problems with junk is wearing thin. The P0172 seems to set as I'm coming to a stop, completely off the throttle, when fully warm. At least, that's what it's done the 3? times it's set.   Everything appears normal on the scanner EXCEPT long term fuel trim. There's only one bank on this vehicle because it's an OBD 1.5 with only one upstream O2 sensor. At idle, it's around -16.4% and will dip to -18% occasionally at idle or off-throttle. LTFT approaches 0 when throttle is held at 2500rpm. Short term appears normal, much closer to zero all the time. The LTFT tells me the engine is running rich at idle but compensating at higher load. But, why?   The EVAP purge valve doesn't appear to be leaking/sucking fuel vapor continuously. Is it sticking just as I come to a stop and the engine is choking on fuel vapor and sets the P0172? But that doesn't explain the persistently negative LTFT. Disconnecting the purge valve doesn't seem to make any difference.   I suppose that leaves another dang issue with the fuel injector. A leaking fuel pressure regulator, a new leak in the spider, or a leaking fuel injector/poppet valve I didn't see, or a small crack in one of the spider legs.   The vacuum line leading to the fuel pressure regulator doesn't have raw fuel in it. It doesn't even smell like fuel when it's pulled off, not until you suck air through it, then you can tell it leads to a fuel component. I'd consider that normal? Nothing is signaling this is a FPR issue from the outside, at least.   The oil smells like fuel but it's not building volume. I've noticed most oil in most engines smells like fuel to some degree so it's hard to say if the smell is an issue or not. Or if the engine just still smells like fuel because the crankcase was full of it a few hundred miles ago. But it's been changed twice since that original issue of the leaking fuel line dumping fuel into the intake.   Patience is running very thin. Every win seems to be accompanied by two steps backwards, or another issue that leads to removing at least the top half of the intake manifold. Enough! LOL
