Vibration At Idle

my idle sometimes vibrates...but the rpms do not move...and it had little to do with 4.8 vs 5.3 vs aluminum vs iron..its the nature of the vortecs...i have a 5.3 iron block and it has a rough feeling idle

I have not noticed any rough idle with my 2010 GMC 5.3L in 15,000 miles but I do notice my 3.6L in my CTS4 does whenever I use off-brand fuel such as Murphy (Walmart) or Holiday, even BP. If I use Shell, the engine it noticeably much smoother at idle and also starts much smoother. I always use Shell in my GMC but only because the place is 3/4 miles away and card-at-the-pump. All other stations are 5 or more miles and never any cheaper.

 

It could be ethanol content causing rough idle?

sorry to bring back an old post but my 2011 silverado started vibrating at idle but rpms wouldnt move and motor wouldnt shake.so i took it into dealer and they discoverd my electric fans had mud built up on them and was throwing them outa balance causing truck to vibrate.they replaced both fans and motors and now idles smooth as it did the day i bought it.jus a tip for you guys to check out on your trucks.
