What are the largest benefits from your BB tune on your 6.2? What about the mileage? Any difference? Total cost if you do not mind disclosing that info. I am sure their are others out there with the 6.2 in their 11' with a BB tune, and I welcome your input too.

The biggest benefit I see is the TCM tune. I didn't really get better mileage, maybe .5 but thats hardly measurable. I got my tune at a meet in Pittsburgh and it cost $250. I didn't get the Autocal (yet) just because once the tune is set the way you like it, there's just no need to go back to stock. In several trucks I've had tuned, once set I never went back.

Since the 6.2L has PLENTY of power, I wasn't really after more power. I wanted better/stronger shifts and a more aggressive shift pattern while still maintaining a "near" stock feeling while under normal driving. I don't beat on my truck at all and hardly ever do full throttle pulls but when I do, it's nice to know the truck will perform. I had him raise the rev-limiter so we could raise the shift points along with the speed limiter to 120mph. I had him tune for 93 octane to get the most power and I also had him pull most of the TM from the engine and transmission. I left the TM in place for the tow/haul feature so I still have that protection when towing. Overall I'm very pleased with how the truck performs and certainly recommend his tunes. I know its not a sports car, but it certainly feels like one when she's going down the road sideways. He did wonders for my 07 Vmax and knew he'd do the same for my 11'.

Hope that helps :P

No milage change for me either. I would say the shifting is the much improved area. Its hard to put into words but I love just cruising then hitting the pedal and having the truck take off seemlessly and with no hesitation.

Same here, no milage gain but a much better performing truck. I have the autocal with a 2 TCM tunes, a sport and a tow tune. Both of which perform better then stock, but put the sport tune in and watch out!

I waited about 6 months before I got mine. I wanted to feel comfortable that the truck wasn't going to have issues before I had it tuned. Once tuned, I never looked back :dunno:

I have changed my tune between sport and tow a few times lately when i have had to tow things. It amazes me everytime the differnece there is. It's the tranny and TM that is really holding this engine back. You will not regret a tune, this thing pulls hard once tuned properly.

PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT HOW GREAT THE L9H/6L80E IS AFTER A CUSTOM TUNE PLEASE!!

Thank you,

From all us NON-tuned L9H/6L80E truck owners.

:dunno:

(P.S. This IS all YOUR fault, BTW Steve!)

I'd settle for just not talking about how great the 6.2 is. Heck, just don't talk trash about our 4-spds! :dunno:

You won't find me trashing the 4-speed. It's worked just fine for more than 20 years.. in various formats.. :dunno:

Kidding! But... when folks say things like "this 6-spd blows away the 4-spd"... it leaves that impression. Not saying that *you* said that, but it gets said. Really... just kidding around. It doesn't bother me!

4L what?? Who uses those things anymore? They MAKE automatic transmissions with less than 6 speeds in them anymore? Sheesh! :dunno:

Steve told me to post this, btw. :D
