GasHog369 Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I searched and found this to be an issue with some 08- new body styles.. But my 06 has a bad case of the squeeling window when the passengar side is rolling up. It goes up normal speed compared to the driver side, but sounds like the rubber is riding along the window and making this god awful SQUUUUEEEELLLLLLLL Ive tried to pull the rubber back from the window but cant get it tight enough to see if the weatherstrip seal is the culprit or not.. It happens about 98% of the time the window rolls up.. but some weird times its quiet! Any ideas? I'm thinking about replacing the window seal, but cannot figure out which part # it is... I searched on gmpartsgiant / and gmpartsdirect but didnt have much luck.. And do not know if it is possible to replace easily..
desrtrat Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 have you tried cleaning the window and seal with a good cleaner? you could try rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip and try to clean the seal in the track, and the felt strip.. good luck
2000Redstep Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Try silicone spray lubricant, and let it run down the tracks into the door. Worked wonders on my Equinox.
GasHog369 Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Ive tried cleaning strip good, and spraying silicone.. all the silicone did was make a mess when window went up.. took a while to remove it all. I'm ready to just change the damn rubber pieces. any one know a part #?
j13smiley Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 silicon only in the tracks (on the ends of the window). that shouldn't make a mess on your window...
