Addco Rear Swaybar Installation Question

Got dad his Christmas present, a rear Addco swaybar for his 98 1500 Express.

As always the instructions that comes with Addco bars is usually generic and requires longer to figure out how to mount it than installing it.

I inspected all the pieces to make sure there was nothing missing and the kit appears to include all the required hardward. But I'm curious as to how the bar bolts to the axle. The rear bar attaches to the axle using these type pieces:

But unlike other rear swaybars I've installed on my other cars, according to the photo in the directions, these bolt to a flat spot on the axle that is already there. On the Ford Fairlane and Fiat Spider, the kit included some U-bolts that wrapped around the axle then the above pieces overlapped a flat piece of metal which went on the underside of the axle.

The Chevy van kit did not include any U-bolts. According to it, I'm supposed to either drill through something on the axle or the holes are already there for a factory swaybar.

I can scan and post the Addco directions if this does not make sense.

This Addco rear swaybar I put on my Yugo took me 6 hours to figure out how to install. But it was well worth it in the end. No more front tire squeeling around curves. I wore my last set of front tires out at 4K miles.
