2012 1500 2x4 With 6.2?

I just recently bought a 2008 vortec Max 1500 4X4 with a 6.0 and love it. I have a 04 4X4 1500 lifted with a 5.3 and 212,000 miles and have had great luck with the 5.3. But man,that 6.0 is nice,great torque. I talked with the dealer that I bought the V-Max from and ask him about the 6.2. I ask him what the hp was. He said 403hp. So today I was thinking and thought what a nice ride if I could order a 2012 GMC 1500 2X4 ext-cab with a 6.2. Would GM sell that setup?

I went from a 07 Vmax with 4-speed and 4.10 gears to an 11 with 6.2L 6-speed and 3.73 gears. Let me tell you, the stock 6.2L will/would run circles around my BB tuned Vmax. It's a huge difference between the 2. If you do it, you'll love it

What does GMC call a truck like this? Any idea what the ball park price was? Seems like it should be under $30,000

Price depends on options. I'm sure a fully loaded Crewcab SLT would cost you closer to the $45,000 before rebates. An SLE 2wd extended cab would be closer to the 30 mark.

Have you ever used the build your own site? That will tell you what combinations GM will build. Looks like you need at least extended cab and SLE trim to get the 6.2L. MSRP in the $35k range, which should be had for under $30k. Finding a 6.2L on the lot is often difficult, but anyone can order anything per the build and price site and wait 2-3 months to get it.

I ordered mine because I couldn't find the exact options I wanted. Order took 6 weeks to the day to take delivery.
