Knocking Sound Under Dashboard

hey fellas,

 

i appreciate any input u may have on this. basically when the key is tuned on or off there is this knocking noise under the dash. im pretty sure it is the ac/heat blower motor but im not sure. i was wondering if it is if anybody had any tips for changing it out. i had a friend a while ago who had a tahoe that this had apparently starting happening to and he took it to gmc and the dealer charged him something like 400.00 to change and replace. thx for any advice u can give
