Why does Chevy use LIT's "My Own Worst Enemy"?

I really like the song and all, but if you're in marketing, why would you use that song to market something?  Don't people look at these things?  You're trying to sell something, you don't need any negatives in your message.

 

Once again, Chevy's ad campaign is a day late and a dollar short.  this is why the Camaro is dieing.

Well it's like dodge using aerosmith's just push play.  They combine where aerosmith went wrong to where dodge went wrong.  I guess they were hoping two wrongs would make a right.

 

 

But, really, they never seem to get ad campaigns right.  Pontiac does a good job using jimi hendrix.  I haven't seen the commercial yet, what  one are you talking about.

Not a lot of songs match up with what they are trying to sell...

but the best use of a song in a auto commercial was a couple of years ago when Mazda used Big Red Rocket of Love (rev. horton heat) in an ad for the Miata..

Speaking of dumb ad songs-those commercials for Mazda (I think) that goes Zoom Zoom Zoom just flat gets under my skin.  They play the song as the car goes by then the little kid says "ZoomZoom".  Ack I'm getting mad just thinking about it.  Stupid.  Obviously it's not targeted to me 'cause I'd never own one anyways.   :angry:
