How Much Does Your Vortec Cost?

I haven't had a lot of experience with Vortec engines, except in the 97 3/4 ton, which has only had 7000 miles put on it since we got it anyways. Other than oil changes of course, how much money have you spent over the years keeping your Vortec going? Just curious, because on my 1990, the only thing that hasn't been worked on is the engine itself. I'm hoping I'll get the same dependability as the ole' smallblock from the 5.3 in my 06.

173,000 miles on a 2003 5.3 in a suburban... oil changes and a water pump if you can count those.. nothing else.

 

no ticking or knocking, smooth as glass still.

 

103,000 miles on the 5.3 in my 2001, same thing, water pump and oil. slight tick when cold at idle.

 

102,000 miles on the 4.8. just oil changes. smooth as glass

200,000 miles on my 5.3 just starting to use a little oil...ive been through a water pump,steering pump(my fault,not the trucks), and fuel pump which is pretty basic stuff. The motor is in excellent shape and i expect to get many more miles out of it and i've still got my stock transmission

 

My dad has a truck similar to mine and it has around 160,000+ miles and that motor is still going strong with no trouble once so ever. His truck hasnt had anything replaced on it beside a thermostat. Original trans motor fuel pump everything.

110,000 on my 03 5.3L. Just oil changes and new belts/tensioners.

202,000 and I've replaced the fuel pump, a 15 dollar sensor of some kind (I don't remember, it was just to get the SES light to turn off) and oil changes. That's it for the motor.

90k miles, no engine work to date. Oil changes & couple of fluid top offs. Haven't even had to change the plugs yet.

Anybody with a 5.3 AFM engine and way over 100k miles with no problems at all?
