fog lights

Hi, i am new to the forums , and i have a 2011 silverado and want to add a couple of things to it. i want to and factory fog lights and need to no if gm installs the wiring for the lights and switches ?. do i have to reprogramm the bcm make them work?. also need some info on a trailer brake control, is there a factory one for the dash or do i have to go aftermarket?

You can buy the kit to do foglamps, I don't think any programming is needed. You cannot install the factory brake controller though, you will need to go aftermarket.

You will have to use an aftermarket brake controller. The built-in controller must installed at the factory.

I remember reading not too long ago on here about someone that did the upgrade on their truck, including the new endcaps and everything. I did a quick search and didn't come up with it, but I'm sure its there.

Trailer Brake COntroller: as said above you cannot add the factory option you have to go aftermarket. Here is a nice writeup on one

I installed factory fog lights on my truck and the kit included everything you need (other then tools). Remove grille then bumper followed by the end caps. Install new endcaps, reinstall bumper and grille. Install fog lights, attach wire harness and route to fuze box and to ground. Pop off interior panel, unplug the old switch and swap with new one and reinstall the panel. About all there is to it, I can't remember if I had to install a fuze or not, it has been a while.
