2009 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3 (LOW OIL PRESSURE)

First of all truck never has never had real good oil pressure but was within spec. Lifters come apart, Replaced lifters, cam, oil pump etc.. Started truck up ran fine but now @ idle it has about 20-30 pounds with engine cold with 20w50 oil. Engine warm it will go down to 5 to 10 @ idle and will kick warning light on. So i replaced oil pump and o-ring again and checked pick up tube.. Started back up, same thing.. Then replaced the oil sending unit that also did not fix it. About to put a manual oil gauge to see what oil pressure is really @. Has anybody else had this same problem??

• Why are you running 20w50? Should call for 5w30. You may have damaged your oil pump by running that oil in it.

I put 5w30 in it when i first put it together then I put 20w50 in it to see if oil pressure would come up.

sounds like you are doing this work yourself? what else has been done to the motor to void the warranty?

It's got over 120,000 on it so it has no warranty. The owners of the company i work for own a Chevrolet dealer and they still bring *&^%# to me!!
