Looking to see what others may have done to upgrade the work truck standard radio, all I am really needing is a way to have a aux input.

Hi,

You could always install a factory head unit that has the aux. port in the front of it. I have one available that has the aux port and a cd player. It was from my 2011 (non-bose). If you chose to go this route, the dealer would have to re-program the radio to work in your truck.

Has anyone ever heard of a way to add a aux input to the existing GM radio?

PAC makes one, but there are some restrictions as to what it will work on - not sure if a base work truck radio will be compatible - read the requirements on the linked page to be sure.

Before putting in my OGM1 I was running the UPAC-GM29 (now just sitting in my closet):

But it looks like it is now a retied since it is listed as not compatible with the iOS 4 with no upgrade to the firmware in site. It had both the ipod control via the XM input and an aux in which I think I tested once but never really used since I relied on the ipod. Both worked very so as long as the new versions work the same you should be good.

I have the non-bose radio....
