Howdy,

Like everything else I'm sure this has been discussed already but oh well...

I'm looking into gettng a programmer for my truck listed in the title. I'm deciding between diablosport and superchip flashpaq. Everything I've read people always say "screw handheld, go custom". I'm not going custom so please don't mention it, I want a programmer that allows me to switch between tunes particularly one for power and one for economy (<---most important) and also one that allows me to go back and restore the factory tune. I would like yall's input ESPECIALLY if you have had first hand experience with either. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site. First off, you can still get a custom tune and the Autocal device with will duplicate what your trying to do from Blackbear performance. But if thats STILL not the route you want to do, either choice will work. I used Diablo Sport prior to my BB tune and it worked but the BB tune was better.

So you can get an actual handheld device with the Blackbear custom tunes? I was under the impression that a custom tune is a single tune by itself with no way to change back urself unless you go back to the shop. Also I thought the custom tunes were more on the power side, not necessarily for fuel economy. And don't you have to strictly run premium fuel on a custom?

Justin at Blackbear will offer you an 87 octane tune and a 91+ octane tune, with different options that you want. AutoCal is the way to go.

No, you can switch tunes with Autocal, and your not stuck running premium fuel. Full flexability

I started with a hypertech max energy tuner, and for $380 i was disappointed, so i returned it with a couple of days after trying it, for an addition 169 i went with BB. customer service is awesome the tune is awesome. fuel mileage went up 1-2 mpg. its cold out in VT so fuel mileage has dropped again due to warming up the vehicle
