Hood opening low

i just bought a 2011 tahoe, and I was wondering it there is a hood fix so that the hood opens to a normal position, I wonder what chinese midget thought the hood open height was sufficient. i hit my head on it 4 times today changing the oil, most hoods open at least to a 45 degree angle, this hood barely opens to 25 degrees.

then put a strap on it like that low opening tailgate that has a strap

That "low opening" height keeps it from bouncing off my open garage door. Since I back my truck in there, it's a blessing in disguise for me.

 

Besides, I'm 5' 7" (and a Caucasian)!
