03 Escalade DIC steering wheel controls don't work

Hey All,

 

I just picked up an 03 Escalade EXT. The steering wheel controls to control the drivers information center do not work. None of them light up either. I am unsure of the history of the truck, as I did not talk to the previous owner. The radio controls on the wheel work fine. Can anyone give me any pointers on where to start troubleshooting? Thanks!

Thanks, but there has to be some way for me to troubleshoot this at home. I have never brought a vehicle in to the dealership for repair, I'm sure not going to start now! I was hoping someone has had a similar problem to give me some advice.

I'll go a little easier on you. If you truly want to do this yourself, start by spending the money for a factory service manual from HELM. You should be able to decide then, if you can do it.

Did your stuff come from All data, or do you still have access to GM stuff?

I didn't mean it as an insult. Usually there is someone on a large board like this that has had a similar problem, and knows how to fix it.

 

I will be starting in management at a GM dealership in two weeks, so hopefully I can have someone there help me. I was hoping I could do this at home in my own garage. Thanks
