Kelly Safari TSR's "Thoughts,Pics"?

I'm getting ready to order a 2.5" leveling kit for my 07 crew and wanting to upgrade tires when I do it. I've researched tires to death on websites forums and found the end of the internet in the process lol!

After a ton of research i'm leaning towards the Kelly Safari TSR's. I do 95% highway driving but like the look of a more aggressive tire than what an A/T tire offers. I was pleasantly suprised to read that the tire life of the TSR's is really good especially considering their a mud tire. I've went back and forth between the Kelly's & the Nitto Terra Grapplers, pretty close to same price range but no doubt the TSR's look alot meaner. I can get a set of the 285/70/17 tires out the door for $982.00 pretty damn good price I thought.

Any of you guys have any personal experience with them, would love to see some pics on somebodies ride if ya got any.

If 95% of your driving is highway stay away from a mud tire! They start out noisy and get louder. Lots of good AT tires work well on the street.

Got 17,000 miles on my Maxxis Bighorns in 285/75/16 and they still got plenty of tread in them and i paid 748 bucks for all four of them and there balanced for free every 5000 miles, and there pretty good mt

I don't think I'd go with the Safaris, if you want a mud tire go all the way, the Safari's will be just as loud as an MT. If you're doing a bunch of highway, though, I don't really see any reason to go with a mud tire. Louder, less life, and bad fuel mileage. The Nittos are supposed to be a decent mileage tire, I think I'm going with Falken Wildpeaks on my 06 next time. As for my 1990, it'll get Mud Country Radial MTX's, just like this time.

Thanks for all the feedback guys much appreciated. I'll keep looking before I pull the trigger, with the type of driving I do I know an A/T would work fine just really like the look of the beefy M/T tires. I guess nothing like wanting your cake and eat it to huh lol!

The Dura Tracs look sweet, checked them out to just trying to keep my price down as much as possible. I really like the looks of the Maxxis Bighorns and wow the price is sweet but I couldn't find them in a 285/70/17. Buying tires is like buying lift/leveling kits. I research and research and go back and forth and back and forth, it would be easier to bite the bullet and go for it but I like doing my homework :fingersx: .

The Kelly Safari TSR is the same tire as the Goodyear Duratrac, just with a different name, and slightly different tread pattern.. Goodyear owns Kelly... They are made from the same carcass. So any reviews from the Duratrac will be the same for the Safari... Its a nice cheap alternative to the Duratrac

Your right , thanks for the info. I think I'm going cross eyed from looking at tires and must have overlooked them.
