In protest of the "Stop Online Piracy Act" aka SOPA, GM-Trucks.com has censored it's logo and will continue to do so all day. We encourage you to educate yourself on SOPA and its Senate counterpart, PIPA. Write your representatives TODAY and let them know that breaking the internet is not right and will destroy the online tech industry.

Think this doesn't concern you? Ponder this:

Under SOPA if a random spammer or troll posts "copyrighted" material on the this forum the US Government would have the right to confiscate our domain name, permanently with no course of dispute for me and Josh. GM-Trucks.com would be GONE.

WRITE YOUR REPRESENTATIVE AND SENATOR TODAY

Thanks for clearing that up. You brought attention to me... as I otherwise probably would have missed that this was going on.

I understand the endeaver you are partaking in and why. What I don't understand is why this and other sites are resorting to self-censorship to fight censorship.

It makes people aware of what's going on.

These forums would be drastically affected by this law.

Errr, yeah.... "We're from the government and we are here to help out"...

I'll bet. What a vague pos they've written.

Well, it looks like the SOPA and PIPA are losing steam. Marco Rubio (co-founder of bill) and Obama have both spoke out against it. And the house is split on it as well.

Yes, they are retreating. Unfortunately, although these bills themselves may be dying, the intent behind them continues to go on strong. Hollywood and big media are intent on pushing through legislation that lets them wipe their competition off the face of the internet. There is a child protection bill coming up in a few weeks and there are rumors they may try to sneak SOPA/PIPA provisions into this bill under the guise of "Protecting the Children"... ugh.. I hate our politics!
