GM remote start settings

I just purchased a 2007 Silverado 2500 crew cab this past weekend, I have a question regarding the factory installed remote start. Is there a way to program so it runs a bit longer? After I start the truck it only runs for about 3-5 minuets then it shuts itself off. My previous truck a 2004 Dodge, with an aftermarket remote ran for like 10-15 mins before shutting off. Is it possible to reset the time it runs? thanks

factory remote start runs for 10 minutes. There is a procedure to extend it another 10 minutes if needed. I don't remember the exact sequence off the top of my head, but instructions are in the owner's manual.

The vehicle can be remote started two separate times between driving sequences. The engine will run for 10 minutes after each remote start.

Or, you can extend the engine run time by another 10 minutes within the first 10 minute remote start time frame, and before the engine stops.

For example, if Q and then / are pressed again after the vehicle has been running for 5 minutes, 10 minutes are added, allowing the

engine to run for 15 minutes. The additional 10 minutes are considered a second remote vehicle start.

 

Does anyone know of a way to disable the heated seat function when using remote start? My seats get too hot for me during this process.

So by going through the procedure again after it starts it extend it 10 mins, I get that.. but will I have to do that every time or by doing it the once will the always run for the 20 mins?

It should automatically turn on if the temps are cold enough. Mine do.

AND the dumb part is that the extension ONLY starts at the time you remote restart, not added to first 10 min runtime!!! This uses up the second of ONLY TWO remote starts!!???
