i think my 285/75/17's have outgrown my stock chrome clad rims and i am looking for some new 17" rims. I still like the look my truck has from the side profile with the chrome clads, its just they're so thin that they pull in the tires a bit making the front and rear view look like the tires are so thin and awkward. Unfortunately i dont have a very good eye for designing stuff which is why i'd appreciate your suggestions! for those whol havent seen my truck here's a link to the most recent pictures i have of it: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=138485&hl=&fromsearch=1

i honestly think your truck looks really good the way it is, its a perfect height and the tires size is good . and if you wanted to go with a new rim for a wider tire, i would try and find something like a classic lock style, not some weird looking aftermarket rim.

thanks KMGZ400, i was considering something almost the same shape as the current rims, just wider, or something similar to like krager rims. But i was also considering that if i was gonna get rims i should get smething different all together. thats why im looking for help cuz i cant decide lol

I would go with a different style all together if you're going aftermarket, otherwise what's the point really? I'm all for black wheels, but not in a 17". They look too much like spares in that case. I would look at wheels made by XD, BMF, Fuel, etc.

I agree, 17" black wheels don't cut it.

eh, disagree (as evidenced by my truck). imo a truck shouldnt have larger than a 17 anyway- not enough sidewall. i think the design of the wheel, not necessarily the black, would make it look like a spare.

The general rule 4wheel & Off Road always gives is for any kind of serious off road driving your rim should be about half (or less) the overall diameter of the tire. I prefer that anyways for the smoother ride, but most people like the look of bigger rims. I don't wanna go any bigger than I have to.

As for your truck, how about a black/silver classic? Just remember, the further your tires stick out, the more crap will end up on your truck.
