Painting Chrome Grille Trim and Bowtie - Opinions

So I've had my Avalanche for almost 5 years now and the mod bug has set in. I'm thinking about painting the chrome gille trim that has bugged me since the day I bought it. I am having trouble deciding if I want to paint the chrome trim red (to match the color of the truck) and the bowtie black...or if I want to paint the chrome trim black and the bowtie red. My wife prefers black trim, red bowtie and I think I agree.

 

Well, I decided to mock-up something a little more definitive than some bad photoshop. So I got some red and black electrical tape and got busy.

 

Which side do you prefer? Looking for any opinions (and other options for that matter). I'm going to contact a local powder coater and find out what they would charge to do this for me.

To all the black bowtie supporters, does this mean you prefer the red trim as well? I'm not 100% positive I like the red trim. I don't have a picture (and I'm not sure how it would turn out) but what if the trim was black and the bowtie was black, and then the thin surround around the bowtie (currently black) were to be painted red?

^{I had actually come up with another idea last night combining the two. The way the grille on the Avalanche is done, there is the trim, the bowtie, and a black piece behind the bowtie (let's call it a surround). So my idea was to paint the trim black, the surround red, and the bowtie black. I was going to try and mock this up last night with some more electrical tape but I couldn't get the bowtie off (after some more research, I think I can get it off now). Maybe I will try it tonight and post up a picture.}

 

^{In the mean time, I played with it using Paint as that is the only program I have on this computer. I kinda like it but won't know for sure until I am able to mock it up using electrical tape again. Let me know what you think.}

i like how the bowtie looks in that pic.

 

you know what would look wicked, is if the middle bar of the grille was black also. kinda makes the opening look wider. just an idea, you can play with your electrical tape to see if you like it.
