2011 with bad paint and delaminating center caps.. already....

Just got my black 2011 silverado ecsb back from the dealer. Already had my first 2 issues with it. The paint on the drivers door and on the truck bed on drivers side started blistering. All 4 center caps on the stock 20's started delaminating themselves as well. Must say the dealer took care of me though and the truck looks good as new again. Anyone else hear of this happening?

I got to bomb around in a fully loaded 2011 suburban as well for a week. Which actually makes me want to take my truck in for the AFM. You couldnt even tell the suburban had it, my truck its very annoying and you can really feel it. My wife dont even want to drive the truck due to it but couldnt even tell the suburban had it.

What I found funny is they took it to the ford dealer to get fixed. Which, brings me to a question, what would you guys do with the following issue.......

It appeared that whenever they did the buffing, sanding, whatever it is, that they had the doors open or the window down, maybe just a dusty shop, dont know, its all speculative about that.

The dash board was covered in the white dusty powder/film, gauge cluster, radio, center arm rest, back door plastic panels, drivers door panels, a/c vents were all covered in the white dusty powder/film. The dash had marks/film at the bottom where your knees are. The door panels looked like someone couldnt lift their feet to get out or pushed the door open w/ their boots. The jambs looked like the dust/wax, whatever it is got wet and is around all the jambs. The seats front and back, you could literally smack them with your hand and a dust cloud would puff out of them. The drivers seat has a stain no bigger than a pencil eraser in diameter, whatever it is, looks like it is the same powdery substance only it got wet and dripped. The driver's window has some sort of gummy substance on the outside that is black when you scrape it w/ your nail.

Take pics and send it to them or take it back and show them. I would more than likely clean it myself because I know I could fix it right.

I can't feel the AFM in my truck. I actually didn't even know whether it worked until I added the DIC buttons. Mine has higher rpm in 4th, however than a 6-spd/3.08 or 3.42 has in 6th.

why did they have the windows open or door ? It sounds like they where listening to music when sanding your truck down. The wet spot could of been a guys sweat or spit . Every time my parents take there fords to the dealer there is a free cleaning involved , They clean it really well to better than you bring in the vehical and that is how it should come back better than you brought it .

My parents said if I ever borrow somthing bring it back in better condition than you found it .

I always see people with there music playing loud when there working on somthing near there truck. I took my truck to get some winter tires two years ago and was siting around and notice they where hoping in the vehicals and turning on the music when changing all the tires. On my truck that day tho I was working on a little sub and audio in jack so I did not have a sterow for them to crank .

Don't tolerate sloppy work, period. I would call the service manager and tell him/her cleanliness represents pride and that it looks like its lacking in their shop. Demand them to clean it I'm front of you.

I can tell the AFM in my 2011 Sierra 5.3 is working but it is not bothersome at all.

The AFM isnt that much of an issue to me either. Maybe I'm just used to it though, my wife does hate it. But it got me thinking because like I said with what they gave me for rental, you couldn't feel it at all and she didnt believe me that it had it until I showed her.

As far as the condition my truck was left in, the stain is white on the seat and about as big around as a pencil eraser, I cant get it to come off of the seat either.. As far as the dust everywhere and scuff marks, I cleaned it myself and got rid of it. I should of taken pictures but it was one of those things where you just wanted to get it done and thought later. I did notify the service manager at the Chevy dealer of the situation and I am waiting on a reply. I told him that as them being the consumer towards the ford dealer they should demand better service than that.

So your saying it came from the FORD dealer and the GM dealer back like that . So GM out sources to FORD and GM puts a ok stamp on there work ? I personaly would blame GM more on this . They could of outsourced the work anywhere or done it there selfs . Also GM should of cleaned your truck if Ford did not.

So your saying a corporation is aloud to own a Ford and GM dealer ship .... interesting.

There is a local dealer here that has a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep car lot, a Ford car lot, and Chevrolet car lot.

Yes, the GM dealer had the Ford dealer do the body work. The GM dealer does not have a body shop and the Ford dealer does, it is right next door to the GM dealer. The Ford dealer does do really good body work, I have had them work on a couple cars before. Still no response from the GM service manager though.
