Sweating transmission lines?

its an lm7 5.3/4l60e trans...anyway to make a long story short i was checking fluids today and noticed what i think is one of the trans lines that feeds into the radiator was moist...(it would be the steel looking line going into the top left corner of the radiator) now i diden't wipe it off as i assumed the line was hot still, i'm just trying to figure out if this is the common "normal" sweating trans lines or what..the way it looked it wasen't fresh as it was coated pretty well with road grime...moist none the less...any ideas or opinions?

and the lines (sorry for not explaining it) you saw are the transmission cooler lines whick go through the radiator and circulates from the radiator back into the transmission to keep it from getting too hot.its like an attic.heat from the house into the cold attic creats moisture when that happens its called a storm. so thats all thats happening with your lines its normal.an those lines never get so hot to the point that you cant touch them. i can tell you all this because ive done alot of tranmission cooler stuff....

yes the cooler lines sweat oil (not water) from the crimp ..its very common.

they are easy to replace but ive done a ton of them lol,,

keep an eye on it and dont think its gonna pop off,,it wont

if you need to clear the cooler you can use a little air compressor if you need to do that

Man I've been thru the ringer on this, the tranny lines GM sells are junk. I don't know how cold it gets where you are but for me I get actual little red drips in my driveway few times a winter. When it's super cold, like -30C or more those lines leak at start up. I've tried to replace them, brand new ones still did the same. If you start digging thru the forum you will find a thread I started on this somewhere. Those lines are just a poor design.

Not to thread hijack but this is on same issue.. I'm taking mine into a guy tomorrow at dealership to check mine out for i believe this same issue / possible leak.. over the last year or so i have a stain on my driveway about 6" round , very light in color tho from drips. I cant figure it out but i think this is my issue.

heres some pics of my lines..

Man they can't fix anything they will just use the same junk lines. Same problem I have with mine, GM uses junk lines. They will drip a little bit more at start up when it's colder than -30 C...its really annoying. They don't leak much tho, not even enough to make a difference on the dipstick after 2 years. But it's still embarrassing, all my ford buddies laugh...I'll get the last laugh tho. It's all good. LOL

May I ask you what I should tighten??? If you actually have an intelligent reply, I would love for you to inform myself and a bunch of other guys what it is we should tighten. Let me ask you something, how many times have you fired the chev up in -40c???
