A few updates of the 05

Its been a while since I posted some of the projects that I have been working on so I figured Ide show everyone what I have done over the winter.

First addition was adding a used camper shell to the rig.

I like the look of it but I kept my toolbox just in case I get tired of it and wasnt to take it off for a while. My plan is to make a "Big Boy" version of my old ZR2 pickup.

The second addition is the false rock rails.

They are made of 2x4 recatangular tubing 1/8" wall thickness, and 1.5" schedule 40 pipe.

I put a set of these on my ZR2, but those were true rock rails because I was able to mount them on the frame. I wasnt able to do that with the Z71 because of the frame setup, so I mounted them like a set of nerf bars on the body mount buckets.

The mounts are 2x3 angle iron 1/4" thick.

I think they were a much better looking option thant the hoopy looking steps that I tried the firts time. Plus, I like the extra stability of mounting them to part of the frame rather than just to the body like the other ones (like go-rhino or N-fab does)

Finally is the mod I like most.

Took a trip to The Woodlands TX and got Justin to tune it for me. While it didnt make my truck a race car by any means (I think it would be a little heavy for that) it really made it more responsive and just made it more of a joy to drive.

Oh, almost forgot about the Autometer transmission temp gauge. I tried the factory gauge install into my cluster, but messed that up, so this was my next option. Much cheaper than a new cluster.

You've been a busy dude lately, well done. I've always liked the look of a camper shell for some reason, just never pulled the trigger on one.
