mechanical fuel pump

one of my two fuel pump bolts are stripped out.and it leaks i think my fuel pump might be going..would it be better to switch to an electric pump or do the electrics use more

Changing to an electric pump won't affect your fuel consumption. Lots of folks have made the swap.

Or you could fix the stripped threads and stay with a mechanical unit. It's not that bad of a job

i would stay with the mechanical if it were me, unless you are building a drag car or something. fixing that bolt won't be much of a pain, and if it were me i would put a new pump on it regarless if it is bad or not. sbc mechanical pumps are like 25 bucks?

thers very little room to work with i just tap an die? its also leaking gas when it runs
