2003 Silverado-Service Airbag

Has anyone had the DIC say Service Airbag? Mine started doing this today. Any ideas on how to take care of this?

yes it means there is a trouble code in the putor and needs to be diag'd

 

without a code ,we cant help

Thanks- I kind of figured that. I need to find a new place to use one since my local autoparts store I have used before, is no longer there.

Same was wrong with my friend's 03 when he sold it, we even replaced the module and that didn't help. I tried my OBD reader on it, but it showed no code for it. The shop that bought the truck fixed it.

Well, Just tried scanning for error codes. None were found, now what? Service air bag is still diplayed. May try to disconnect the battery to clear it. Or need to see the GM dealer. Any other ideas?

As Rob said, most scanners will not read the codes you'd be looking for. Most are designed to read engine codes malfunction codes only
