Is there a noticable difference between these two two sizes?? looking at the specs the 305 70 is the same height as the 285 75 just about a 1/2" wider,..

You're right, the main difference is the width. I'm a tire nut....but I can tell a 305 from a 285 just at a glance. The 305 will look more aggressive because of the extra width....because not only is the contact patch wider...but the lugs will either be bigger or more spaced out as well.

So your saying the 305,s look better? Ive always been a 285 guy because i was always into the height not width, but i want to try something different.. on an 8" wide wheel will they wear ok like the 285,s?? Thanks for the input

IMO, the 305 will look better. They'll be just okay with a 8" wide rim....as they're around 12" wide. A 9" rim would be better, but guys run 12.50" tires on 8" rims all the time. Just don't put too much air in them, or you'll wear out the center tread too soon.
