marpel Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 I know this topic has been discussed in a couple previous threads, but I'm still a bit confused. I have a 2012 Sierra with a factory installed Trailer Brake Controller. After reading other threads about the need to hook up the two wires (one from the right side of the UBEC and one from the left side) to the two studs in front of the UBEC, I checked and found two wires coming from the passenger side of the UBEC, near the master cylinder - one is secured to one stud and the other wire is secured to the other stud. It appears both wires are coming from the same loomed cable covering by the master cylinder. To confuse me even more, I can see a bundled up red wire down between the UBEC and the driver's side fender. I thought a single brake controller power wire comes from the fender side of the UBEC while a single battery power wire comes from the opposite side. What is the second wire from the master cylinder side and should I still be looking to hook up a wire from the fender side, or is that second wire likely the brake controller power wire??? Thanks, Marv
Diesail Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 The second wire is for an aftermarket brake controller. So no it does not need to be connected.
