best style intake for 305?

So I'm spec'ing my first few mods. For those that saw the pic in my other post, my air filter housing is a mess. So I'm thinking on of two options for my 1985 k10.

1. Open element filter and remove all the vacuum lines for the choke preheated tube.

2. Replace my temp sensor switch for the vacuum valve on the preheater, taking a second housing and welding the two together to run dual snorkels and ducts to the grille.

Which do u think will benefit more on MPG and performance? I'm also planning on swapping the Carb and intake manifold down the road. But as of now it's stock.

Also side note. Crankcase breather seems to get dirty quick. Thoughts?

Do option 1 and install a manual choke, you won't regret it.

If your cc breather is getting dirty quick with oil then I'd say your rings are on there way out.

...I live in the northeast. Cold mornings. I figured restoring the system and adding an additional snorkel would be better.

Y manual? I have no issues with my electric choke.

I say get a 600cfm holley, open element filter, weiand intake,305 vortec heads, and a good duration cam, some longtube headers and that thing would be screaming.

I'd say Xtreme 4x4 cam. The vortec heads would help out for sure.
