Homemade Intake installed

I thought it would be fun. Well...I did think that. It was something you sit there and say..."now why in the hell is that not fitting?!"

It's because its custom. I used the parts list from these guys

http://www.gmfullsiz...ad.php?t=116743

4" 90* elbow with a male/female end

2' of 4" black PVC pipe

2' of 1/4" flex fuel line

4" to 3" coupling (for PVC to stock air box)

4" coupling (for elbow to TB)

1/4" to 5/8" barbed fitting

1/4" hose clamp

ABS is preferred because you will have all black but the PVC will work the same and be easier to get a hold of.

I will say the running into the 2-2.5K RPMs was throaty and I liked the sound. Can't wait to put on the exhaust (not homemade) I will be replacing this with a Airaid tube but I do like what this has done so far.

The intake looks rigid from TB to Air FIlter, where is the flex absorbed by engine movement?

It uses rubber coupling from TB to PVC/ABS and rubber coupling from PVC to MAF.

O.K., iI didn't see that. It all looked like ABS to me. The engine shakes a lot and moves quite a bit with throttle input so you want there to be plenty of flex available because the distance between the MAF and the FIlter will be constantly changing.

Yeah I ran highway and city with bumps of most types and it has held up. I will be keeping an eye on it but its temporary.

I will say, I was on the highway to work this morning and i definitely feel it and hear it at 2000+ RPMs
