O2 sensors

I'm going to change all 4. I'd like AC Delco but Autozone carries

Bosch 13178 for $85.99, 15140 for $86.99, and the 13694 for $111.99

and all 4 sensors are the same part number.

Amazon has the AC Delco's.

Part numbers listed for my truck are 213-3867 for $53.15 and 213-1148 for $69.04

Which part number is correct and are all 4 the same? And suggestions are welcome. I want to clear This code. Om going to change the cats and sensors. Sensors first.

Why are you changing them?? I'd stick with AC delcos man...if their is nothing wrong with ur cats done waste time or money.

I think its the cat. But while I have everything out I wanted to change the sensors. I have 120k on the truck. They haven't been "easy" miles.

Don't use Amazons part finder. Your AC Delco #'s are correct, but according to my info the Bosch #'s are off

The originals in my 02 are Denso's.....get em at www.rockauto.com.....all 4 should be the same part #. Denso's website shows 234-4407 for your truck.

The bosch numbers came from autozone. I also took the truck to a shop today. They said its the bank one cat.

So which of the AC Delco sensors do I need

I got the two upstreams I thought I needed, the Denso 234-4012, at rockauto, trouble free. I keep hearing that Bosch products are poison to these trucks, but who knows.

Upstream and downstream (234-4018) are functionally identical but a different p/n because one has a longer wire-get the right part unless you're a wannabe electrician. The rockauto site will make it very clear which is which. Just be glad you don't have a 98 Camry with CA emissions that takes an air/fuel sensor! ($$$$) (I think a hundy for one AFR is $$$$, YMMV)

Rockauto was cheaper than amazon or ebay (under $30 each) but you go ahead and shop around. They also readily gave me new ones because the first ones coded (my fault, if I had fixed the MAF sensor and the knocks first they wouldn't have - in fact the OEMs were probably fine in the first place). I like rockauto.

Oh, if your truck is Canadian you need a different sensor than the US/Mex trucks. Again rockauto knows.

IMHO the O2 is supposed to be a lifetime part, I wouldn't PM it if it hasn't thrown a code. For fun I guess you could pull and inspect 'em just to be sure they aren't stuck in there- a little fresh anti-seize (Densos come with a little packet of nice copper-based anti-seize) and back in, and you won't have to break out the torch and the air tools and the tap-and-die if they ever do code. They are readily accessible and despite horror stories mine came out easy, but you sound like you are looking for things to do ;)

Oh and, no guarantees, they did code, but for $20 I'll ship you both my old OEMs (I would guess Delphi, everything I've touched on that car was Delphi) and you can play with 'em.

I have had more than a few negative experiences with aftermarket 02 sensors over the years. Seems silly really considering that Bosch makes most of them for the O.E.M.'s, however they are mfg'd to different specs. for reasons that are beyond me. Everytime I have gone with aftermarket I get a check engine light not too far down the road. O.E.M. parts I have had no problems with.

I dunno why Bosch should be regarded as poison but it is a widely held belief, it seems. I put Densos into the Burb and never looked back. Those were regular old 02s. Put a Denso AFR ($$$!) into Dad's 98 Camry V6, it also seems just fine. Somehow the Nips never seem to give you any trouble...;)

Wait, we can use wideband o2/ AFR sensors on our trucks? Is there any real benefit to using wideband vs. the normal o2 sensor, or does the truck not know the difference.??

never mind... found a controler that has two outputs and you can program one to send a regular signal to mimic a narrow band o2 sensor.. figured i'd get two of those so when the time comes for the turbo it'll be one less thing i'd have to buy.
