Well, thanks to a city bus (was letting off passengers in front of mom, and "impeading traffic"),and some lady who wasn't paying attention, our X-terra now needs a few things replaced.

The lady was driving a Honda civic, her car ended up going underthe rear end. It broke the "winch" (that's what mom calls it, I have no idea what the official name of the thing is) that holds the spare tire in place in the rear undercarriage. and the exhaust tip is now  pointing in a different position than it's supposed to.

For some reason,  The "good stuff" (Sarcasm) always happens on the rare occaisions I don't go somewhere with mom.

Been  there and hated it!  Did you see it coming?  "I didn't see you!"--okay, then you should not be driving!   Hope no one was hurt.

2 years ago or so I got the lovely bus as a vision obstruction along side of me at 6:35am going to assist our squad on a suicidal male call.  Was traveling west on the main drag and passed the bus on the left as it stopped.  I had a flashing yellow at the cross street, and Suzie Big Hurry in her Civic I believe ends up in front of me pulling out from the cross street...dead center in the driver's door doing 30-35.  A witness said she either didn't stop for the light or stopped and got on it in a hurry.  I cut to the left to try to avoid her, and after impact I ended up on the South sidewalk between a blue US mailbox and a tree.  Blew both bags.  That was fun choking on the airbag smoke and trying to call dispatch.  Now of course the female was at fault, but our lovely brass tried to bend me over by making an issue of my speed...limit was 25...no traffic, 6:35am, whatever boys.

I know how it goes bro.

Got rearended one time at an intersection in a my old 91 S-10. Old lady didn't see me and rammed my truck at 50 mph

Truck's back end lifted up in the air and slid over her hood with rear bumper just barely touching her windsheild of her 89 Bonneville.

2000 worth of damage done to my truck. Bent the frame some, shoved the exhaust pipe into the muffler, pushed all the sheetmetal from the right side torwards the left and into the cab rear, busted the taillight on the right side, killed the bumper and gave me a freakin headache lol.

All in all it wasn't that bad, I was able to drive away from the scene after the cops did the report and the truck was driveable. Her insurance paid for everything and I got pretty much all new rear sheetmetal lol.

Her excuse for hitting me? "She didnt' see me. And she was doing an estimated 50 to 55mph in a 25mph SCHOOL zone!!!

So I feel ya pain bro. Been there before most likely it will happen again with the way peeps drive around here  :fume:    :D

Ouch!! bet that looked real pretty after impact.

you'd think wouldn't you? most of the impact was absorbed by the Class 3 hitch, was "totaled" by insurance people, but was actually fixed for 600 dollars. insurance morons.......
