what size tires for a leveled 1500

So here's the deal...the guy that's installing my leveling kit says that 285x65r18 will be ideal for my truck yet I see guys with leveling kits running 33x12.50's all the time. I want toyo mt's and apparently they don't come in 285x65 BUT they come in 33x12.50. Will they work with minimal fender trimmage?

33x12.50's will work with the correct back spacing of +18 WITH some fender modification. I just put 33x12.50x20's and the modification I did is not noticeable unless you know what your looking for. I made one small relief cut allowing me to push the bottom edge of the fender up and inch or two with a bottle jack, then cut about an inch off the bottom edge of the fender liner to match the new line of the fender. Looks factory, no extra holes in the liner, and I did not remove any metal.

I have 295/55/20 Trails (33x12.5) and I rub sway bar at full lock and didn't do any trimming.

Thanks guys, I think I'm going to order the 33x12.50's and just see what happens! I'll modify fenders etc. where its needed but i really want those tires. Sab316, thats exactly how i want my truck to sit when i get done!

You can't trim a sway bar. Good luck.
