I currently have JBL components but they are 4 years old. the right one is starting to crackle. Crutchfield says a 6 3/4 will fit with alteration. what will need to be altered? Im not sure which to get

You might have to file down some metal but usually 6-1/2 and 6-3/4 are the same.

I have JL audio C2's i believe 6.5

They sound decent but are only amped on the bose amp currently. Once i get my new radio installed i eill be adding a amp for them and the rears.

im on no amp. i looked at those and the polk dxi-6500. they will eventually get ampped

I've got Polks in all 4 corners along w/ a Polk amp.....couldn't be happier. You may not be impressed until you put some power to them though.

I put 4 Polk Audio dxi-6500s with kenwood amp in mine. They sound fantastic. Also replaced the tweeters with infiniti tweeters. The factory ones where kind of harsh sounding when hooked up to the amp.

I recently installed JL coax in my front doors. they are an improvement over stock, even with the factory radio. I am going to pull them out this weekend and re-install with some new mounting plates I got and maybe seal the door up a little better.

I have components now and want components again.

did you have the tweeters going to an amp? or did you just change them out? i have infiniti in all four doors powered by an amp. how good do they sound compared to stock?

crutch field recommended infinti references for my truck, i got those and they sound awesome

i have infinity reference with the stock headunit and they sound decent. dosent go loud enough though.

how are you guys putting speakers in the ext. cab doors of your GMT800's? the stock speakers are clipped in there

I don't know about that.....I basically removed the factory speakers, placed the aftermarket speakers into the cavity, marked and drilled the mounting holes. It was really easy to do.
