hello everyone my name is robert and i am glad i found this board here is all the trouble i have been having with my 2012 silverado says uses flexfuel thanks for any ideas or input in advance have a 2012 silverado just hit 5000 miles idles very rough 5.3 had to dealer 3 times 2 differnet dealers they say nothing wrong dont bring it in unless check engine light comes on. any ideas ? i checked out 4 others with 5.3 they all have little shake but not like mine their read out says ecm controls idle and is not ajustable .so why not replace it g m cust .assist

said they would replace it but i had to pay for part [forget that ] still dont know if that will fix it. just bugs me setting at a light and it shaking like that i had a 2007 5.3 smooth idle but not the 2012 anyone else with this problem ?thanks ??????

dealer said put cheapest gas in it i did not like that idea i keep it at least above 1/2 tank always so i let it go till the gas the light came

on then put in about 1/2 tank of 87 octane real gas in it i try to always get gas at the same place real gas only it seems to do a little better but not like it should be dealer tech told me it takes 30 miles for the computer to reajust to any changes ?? have been using real gas but like i said it could be a lot better

i am about fed up with it cant get anyone to do anything gm wants everyone to be happy with their vehicle huh. well where is that department at i cant seem to find it. idleing real rough today but may do a little better next time i start it thanks for any ideas robert

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your luck so far. I have not read of others having a shake issue. My 2010 with just over 11k miles is smooth. Definitely sounds like something is wrong. I'd keep calling GM Cust support if all the local dealers are telling you it's normal or don't bring it back without a check engine light.

Good luck.

mine does this randomly, did it a lot more when it was new and sometimes it was very noticable, now at 37K it hardly does this, the cause is a 5.3L with AFM,sadly it is normal and you do get used to it,as I said mine only does it randomly now, seems they get better with time, try not to let it bug you,and welcome to the site.
